New Teeth For An Excavator

Just new teeth and shanks, and a few wear plates. Reply:It was late on a Fri when I got the call for the job. The teeth were wayyyy to big for the bucket(they should go on a PC300, PC400 not a PC150), but the man in charge did not want to wait for the proper ones and said, "Just put them on, we need the machine for Mon". So not being one to talk myself out of work I did as the customer asked. They also had me put a few chauky bars on the side of the bucket, the old bolt on plates stayed and all I added in that area were the small weld on ones above them.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:That's ok...... by putting those ovesized teeth you will probably end up repairing the cutting edge after they spring it away from the sides.... the teeth are too long and this tends to create a lot more stress on the edge and sides when trying to pry stuff with the bucket.... especially on the outside teeth. I'll be suprised if something doesn't give out._________________Chris
