I had posted this in general questions..But heres proof it works..Heres the base..Base with plugs installed..Welded plugs in..But notice where I did not weld near the hole in the center..Now heres the real way of seeing if it cracks..We had to Blanchard Grind them (17 in all) after welding to get them flat..Now notice again where i did not weld..and you can see the weld "zone"..but if it had cracked anywhere it would stand out so bad..we could'nt find any and neither will you.. Now these were done no pre or post heat..I did'nt think 308 would work..but it does..Who needs 309?.. ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Didn't know you still could buy Eutectic 680. I use it for welding Nuts onto broken bolts to get em out. Nothing works better.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Had another batch of cast iron bases come in for the "treatment"More mild steel plugs welded to cast iron..Last time (first set pics) we did them with 308..I went and got some 309 today..Its like night and day the diffrence in the filler in this application..Base..Plug inserted..Welded..Its much better! But I did notice that the plugs that fit "loose" would crack here and there on cool-down.. The ones that were tight did'nt have that problem..So I just went over them again and all is good..They will be ground tomorrow..I get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
