Reply:Wow, something I can answer somewhat intelligently about.I took the intro welding class there about 6 years ago. I was doing the Saturday morning one. It was ok, but there were far too many students for the welding lab spaces available. Not enough hands on time. Something you might want to check into. Russ
Reply:That's how I got my start, in 1970. I took a 6 week course in Basic Welding and I've never regretted a minute of it. Welded construction, shops and mostly oilfield. Still had to do three years as a helper, tho, before I got my foot in the door as a welder.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money. -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches
Reply:I took the Introductory Welding class and then the Advanced TIG and MIG several years ago at Mesa Community College.I was very impressed with the enthusiasm and quality of the teachers, and I have been to college a lot (doctoral degree in totally other field). They have the most up-to-date machines and lab space and booths were readily available. It was mostly hands-on.If interested in considering a welding career, the faculty there can be very helpful.I heartily recommend the MCC welding program. |
