Reply:finger break
Reply:Nice, wish I could do that. What kind of machine did you use. I have a syncrowave 180sd trying to learn on and wonder could it do that!
Reply:this project was for my uncle that lives in Tennesse. Its for his truck to keep his squirel dogs when he goes to hunting events. i did this as my senior project im graduation from alfred state college's welding program in ny. i used a lincoln square wave. the hardest thing about the project is i was workin from pics i saw online no actual item to work from. we had to make our own blueprints before fab was started. and revise if we had something wrong.

Reply:what did it cost you in materials?? and where is the order form
Reply:right around 400 and what do u mean by order form?
Reply:you spent 400 bucks to build one, wtf, why, i know it is a fun hobby, but why not buy one
Reply:because they are about 700 to buy like this one here. and its not mine so i didnt care. i was told to figure out how much it was gonna cost and send the bill.
Reply:i dont think he ment order form i think he ment from as in who asked for it summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:no i was really interested in buying one, but not for that much, by the time i bought it, paid for the labor and shipping i could have bought 2 boxes. You can buy one like this for about 550.00
Reply:i would be willing to bet the one you bought for $550 would not be as nice, most of the stuff out there is garbage cheaply made to look nice, thats the way every thing is getting now, its all throw away stuff. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:i agree with you fun4now. alot of stuff is make cheap as hell. either way i got out of paying to build a project. i was gonna make a bar stool racer but this project was alittle more challenging with that thin 16gauge aluminum.
Reply:dluvi think your post got missed, yes you could do that with a syncro 180 i have found diamond plate to be a lil chalenging but i think it was because the stuff i had was anadized already but fresh stuff should be ok just clean the packing oil's off it well. the syncro 180 will have enough power to get the job done, it was my 2nd choice for a TIG but i could not power it so i went with the TA-185 and i had no problems producing enough power for the 3/16" D-plate. so you should be fine. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.

Reply:all i can say is its good to see some one willing to pay the extra $$ for a quality built box as aposed to just buying the cheap store version. not as many people now are willing to do that. once apon a time every thing was built with quality as the first priority now its all about the $$ and quality is way down the list, just get another one and throw this one out when it breaks, thats the way it is now.if i wanted on you can bet i would build it long befor i would buy one of the POS on the market. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:dont get me wrong, i think its a great looking box, i was hoping he would say, 200 bucks in materials or something, any idea how many square ft of metal you used.
Reply:i have just about two full 4'x10' sheets into this project bascially small pieces of scarp. couldnt lay it out the size my uncle wanted it and have any less scarp buying less material. but i got some d plate to build something with now. the metal all together was about 275. if i remeber correctly i got the d plate for around 137.00 for each sheet. and all the little stainless bolts and handles filler put me up to around 400.
Reply:$200 LOL you must not have priced D-plate in a wile. its nuts how much that stuff goes for. it is realy cool looking though. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:ya 2 4x10 sheets is worth 200 in scrap. You got that right, I actually had some crackhead come by my shop while I was out of town and stole three aluminum carts That were dropped off for repair. Guess where they turned up???? Scrap yard. lol Just so happens the yard guy knows me, and where the carts came from. So I got them back quickly, You got a really good buy on those. Anyway..... Very nice work! ~JacksonI'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
