Does anyone have an online calculator link or program that does the calculations for bull nosing the ends of pipe?  Possibly with a template printout option.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:bull nose?  is that the samething as fish mouth??Daye
Reply:I guess you are looking for an orange peel head ?  Cut the end of the pipe so you can fold all the pieces in and weld it shut (cap the pipe on the end).  Thats the best way I can describe it.  Heres a link to a site.http://www.tpub.com/content/construc.../14251_109.htm
Reply:I'm seen those pictures around the net... I'm trying to draw it out in autocad but I'm having some issues with some of the measurements adding up because it's on several plains. I'll try to post a few snapshots.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:So this is what I have been working on... It's an 8" pipe.  I have it split 8 ways. I split the nose radius in two and transfered to the frontal view.  I then did a 3 point arc.  When i split the end view again and transfered, I came up with an issue.. When I quartered the peal and did the measurements, there was a variance.  You can kinda see it at the 1.20223546 measurement.  This is turning out to be quite a bit trickier than I first though it would be. Reply:For 8" pipe you want to have 5 arms, not 8.  Divide the circumfrance of the pipe into 5 and mark the end, carry these lines down the pipe for reference.  Measure 6.75 inches down from the end and draw a base line around the pipe.  Make a template by drawing a 6.75" vertical line on a piece of paper. Divide the line into thirds at right angles to the first line.  Center a mark that is 2 and 11/16ths on the first dividing line.  Center a line that is 4 and 3/4 of an inch on the second dividing line.  Center a mark that is 5 and 3/8ths of an inch on the third dividing line.  Connect the edges with lines and you will have a pointed, hat looking drawing.  Cut it out. (this is your template)  Center the top of the template on the reference lines you previously made, draw the template on the pipe in the 5 places and cut it out, making sure you cut towards the center of the pipe at all times, bevel the edges, heat em up and bend em in, then weld em out.---Sounds pretty simple huh?--Matt6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers
Reply:I can find the answer easy enough.. But what if you had a pipe that was 7.5"?  I was trying to figure it out logically..Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
