Been wathching for awhile and really enjoy the projects... lots of talent out there.I thought I'd post what todays project was for me.Tore off all six lug bolt holders on my backhoe tire while playing in the dirt. Here's some pix of repair. Also broke 2 ears off the hub. Haven't got to that yet... it's cast iron and I guess I need to get some nirod. Attached Images
Reply:Now you have to post pics of how you got it that way. You've got it made -- break one toy playing in the dirt and fix it with the other toy -- nice welding job you did there. Paradise. Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.
Reply:Sure hope those are tubeless! Did something similar one day to our Steiger and they had tubes, about the time I had the third bead laid I realized that it gets hot on the backside too. Guess thats what you call a brain fart.

Reply:They are supposed to be tubeless but one never knows what the last owner had done. The tires are filled with calcium water though so I figured it should stay cool enough. Here's a pic of the machine where it ended up at and a couple of the hub that I started working on today. 1st one is plasma cutout, 2nd is preping for insert. It's cast iron and I am using a steel insert. Using some Harris Super Missile rod. Supposed to do the trick. I used some vinculum several yeas ago to weld steel to cast and it was great... hope this is as good! Also one pic of the arbor I just built for my galfriend. Attached Images |
