Im Looking To Make A New Grill Grate For My BarbqTo Cook On Out Of SS Round BarIs There Any Special Grade Or Type I Should Be Looking ForFor This Application Since I Will Be Eating From ItAnd What Type Of Wire And Gas Would I Need For My Mm210Thanks To All Who Reply
Reply:I think u're gona need a co-signer when u buy that much stainless. I priced a pound of 316-L 1/8" wire last week and it is almost $13 a pound pluss freight to get it here. If you want it to not rust it needs to be 300 series cause 400 series will rust... Terry
Reply:Might be just as well to use mild steel. I build grates out of 1/4" with 1/4" spacing. They don't bend when hot and last forever.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I have thought about doing that before. It is an expencive route to go, buying s.s. round stock and building from scratch. I would see if you can find an existing s.s. grill and see about modifying it fit your grill if you can't find your model.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:I use ER308Lsi wire and Tri-mix gas on our MM251 at work. This is all on food production equipment.
Reply:Most BBQ grates available at the store are mild or mild with a lite chrome coating. Just build it from mild and slather it with butta'. John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com |
