Mirror, Mirror, on the wall who is the best welder of them all?Mirror (WELDERSKELTER) Thought so. Now that we have that out of the way.How many guys out there that have welded for 10 years, still get your eyes burnt at work? I can see kids that dont know any better getting their eyes burnt. But when someone experienced gets it you got to wonder about their experience. I have welded since 69 and have only had my eyes scratchy a couple of times from welding at night. Just curious how many out there have had burnt eyes. Thanks
Reply:sometimes it still happens. Like in a pinch when a product HAS to go out and getting it out involves crawling around inside a 48in stainless cylinder and dealing with the reflection. I havent been burned badly in about 3 yrs. Not since the first time I ran a dual head bug-o with 3/32 dual shield at 500+ amps
Reply:I think that falls into the **** happens category. IF you do lot's of welding, it will get you sooner or later. Sometimes just wearing the wrong color shirt is enough to do it. Or like Silly's example, reflections are a bitch. My name's not Jim....
Reply:i actually just recently got welders flash for the first time in all my years of welding. Never seen the arc outside of the helmet, but was welding outside all day. With all the pressure work in the field in tight cramped positions ive definatly been lucky. This is not somthing id want to experience on a regular basis.
