OFW gear, okay to buy used?

What are your thoughts on buying good quality OFW gear used? I'm worried that if I have to fix anything, that any money I might save might be lost. On the other hand, it seams that regulators and torch bodies are pretty durable and that I might be okay to buy a good set used....
Reply:This year I got a Smith SC229 and 1500 series guages, with a brand new 50' hose and some tips for $150.00 delivered, from ebay.
