ok here's the deal, i've had this bobcat for about 6 months now and have been toying with the idea about gettin one of those miller 175 wire welders, but and i mean but i ain't never wire welded before. and everyone knows they want to buy the right stuff when ya start shellin out the dough. Plus i wanna get a plasma cutter too but that will have to wait till son gets outta college lol or unless i can sneak it passed the wife and get it anyway lol. So ya think the miller 175 is good enuff i don't do alot of weldin mainly just for myself. But me and my bro-inlaw thinking bout buildin some small utility trailers on the side. already made one and it looks real good.
Reply:Billy, you got 2 ways to go bein that you own a Bobcat.You can hang a suitcase feeder off the Bobcat, and weld all day long, or you can buy a 175 machine and have 2 machines workin at the same time.175 -v- 210 or bigger depends a lot on what you want to weld with it.The biggest difference between stick and wire is that you'll have to get used to not feedin the gun into your weld pool like you do with stick.Oh yea, gettin used to not chippin slag is real hard to do too.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:Hmmmm ok Franz how hard is it to change from suitcase feeder back to stick? and would it be cheaper to buy that instead of the 175 . Dang now i gotta do some thinkin lol didn't even know ya could buy an attachment to the bobcat
Reply:Billy, I think the changeover on a Bobcat is just a matter of rotating the switch and changing the amperage, as well as switching the electrode cable.COST~ I don't know, so I ain't gonna speculate.Again, a whole lot depends on what you intend to weld with the feeder.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:wire feeding  a better welding system, It take time to change from stick to wire, get information for wire produceing CO. for data that the machine need to be set for. All you need is  a can do it attitude and a lot of pratice. Jim
Reply:I got a suitcase with my trailblazer and the cost was around 900 more than just the trailblazer itself.  To get a wirefeed welder with the capacity of the suitcase would probably be around 2000.  I would guess something like a mm210 would be comparable to what the suitcase would cost.
Reply:Thank ya Guys appreciate the information now all i gotta do is make up my mind, and thats hard to do with all the items i am wanting lol guess its pick which one i want the most, mig or plasma decisions decisions lol
