So, when welding either 5G or 6G I keep my left elbow against the pipe to stabilize my operation. But in doing so, I always end up laying the back of my left glove against the newly laid weld/slag....that **** hurts after completing my weld.Ive got Tillmans with kevlar in that area, but where can I grab an external hand and sleeve protector, anybody have any thoughts for or against??Thanks, MaxLincoln Power MIG 210 MP ( boat anchor )Lincoln Weld-Pac 100 HDHobart IronMan 230Cutmaster 42Jackson NexGenSumner Ultra ClampsDWM120

Reply:They make a rectangular pad that is held behind the glove with an elastic band that goes around your hand. My LWS has them.Tillman also makes an extreme heat glove with a snap on version of this pad, that can be bought for just the left hand (that glove is also aluminized to reject more heat).
Reply:As the rod burns down, you need to learn to drop that hand down / away, and take control of the stinger with one hand. It will be cumbersome at first , but well worth it in the long run!Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
