solid rear conversion results....videos..

As some of you know I converted my rear in the vette to a solid axle this winter and posted the progress photo of it here.  Well I got out last Sunday and got some more runs on it.  Racing about 20% as much as I did before having the twins last winter.....its killin me!  But I did get out and the results were pretty good. The car went a new best 60' time of 1.33sec!  Not too shabby for a 3400+lb street car.  For those of you that do not know who quick that is, there are calculators on the web that convert that distance travels, by time and it comes out to 61.57MPH in 1.33 sec!  That is crazy fast and believe me its like someone rear ends you at a stop sign when you cut it loose!  Compare that to a ferari or lamborgini (sp?)  Here are the videos.  On that last run I redlite by -.004 sec to take myself out.  I ran the car out the back door and it went 10.19@132MPH.  Here is the video, http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ent=Good60.flvGive me your feedback, its always fun sharing with people that can appreciate the welding/results of a project like this.Best Times with 434 Naturally Aspirated Vette60 - 1.261/8 -  6.37@ 107.25 MPH 1/4 - 10.08 & 134.9MPH1/4 - 9.60@144MPH
Reply:For 3400 Lbs you did real good !! If you get it to spool up much quicker you'll be needing wheelie bars on that thing. Glad you're enjoying it, life does have a nasty habit of cutting down on time with our toys don't it...lol.Anything worth doing is worth doing RIGHT
