A guy welded a cast iron clevis onto a hyd cylinder and it broke, again. So i fixed it right. Bored a new collar to fit the shaft end and welded it onto a piece of 2 1/2" sq tube. Bolted to the cylinder this time. Like new again...BobLast edited by David R; 11-09-2007 at 06:34 PM.Bob WrightSalem, Ohio Birthplace of the Silver & Deming Drillhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/southbend10k/http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sawking/1999 Miller MM185 w/ Miller 185 Spoolmate spoolgun

Reply:Ok, I have questions. Please don't take offense, they are just questions. The rod on the end of the cylinder is threaded. At my hydraulic shop, they have threaded clevis ends. Why not thread the clevis end onto the cylinder rod? Why weld it? Also, looking at the holes that the clevis pin fits into in the reciever, they look like someone took a torch and walleyed them out as good as a cheesegrater. What is that all about?I am at a loss as to the whole initial idea here.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
