Reply:45,000 inches = 3,750 feet, which is a little less than 3/4 of a mile. All that tells us is the number feet of pipe going into the job. For anyone to help, you would need to provide the type, diameter and wall thickness, or schedule, of the pipe, how many joints will be welded, and what process and fillers you intend to weld them with.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:I know of a dude around here that bid on a pipe job without any knowledge of the industry and actually got it.It's for the city....Word is that he's just butting the ends up and welding a cap on them to save time and money. Modern day piece of shiz.He had the nuts to ask me if I wanted to take my rig out there, and I laughed. This industry is hard enough without intentionally trying to hose stuff up.Last edited by jsm11; 10-05-2010 at 11:27 PM.1981 Lincoln SA 200Miller Trailblazer 302gMiller 211 Mig Welder w/ AutosetI'm learning to stick metal together

Reply:Providing some suggestions to the 1st post in this thread is very tempting. However I don't want to get kicked off Board as a result of my very 1st post. You guy's are doing a good job of it. Regards, Uncle Tom
