I picked up a HF bandsaw recently.. put a new blade on it and it works pretty slick.. Didn't like the supports/stand under it so built a new one with some tubing I had laying around.. Safer when using, plus if one of the kids bumps into it it won't turn over.. The second is a table I put together last year for projects.. used receiver hitches and built platforms for my vise/grinder so I can remove when working on bigger things... The table is 4x6 and is made out of 2x2x1/8 with a 3/8 top. This site has been great for ideas and information!! BTW, next thing I build/paint will be "blue" before anybody asks.. Attached Images
Reply:NICE! Looks very very good! Did you rattle-can it or do you use something with a brush? I like that color.Have a Jeep Cherokee? Click Here!
Reply:Nice work on those projects. Where did you obtain the foot-operated stabilizer(s) for the table?Last edited by Weldordie; 11-23-2007 at 02:39 PM.
Reply:The red is shake and paint from HD.. Sunrise Red Rust-Oleum... Bought the table jacks on ebay... they make the table very solid.. make sure you get ones to match your wheel height.. i cut and added a piece of 3/8 plate to balance them with the wheels..

Reply:Stuff looks good. The table jacks are cool. Kinda like what I have been looking for. Have a link to where you got them? I searched for all kinds of variations of jacks and stabilizers, but didn't find anything.
Reply:Great ideas and great work. That shop has a floor in it . Mine used to. Can't see it anymore.

Reply:Yes, both pieces are very nice. Wish I had room for a weld table that large. Need to build a stand like that for my saw.mm135HTP Invertig 201 With water cooler9" Southbend LatheLots of hand tools.
Reply:I bought a HF saw at a yard sale. I wanted a mobile saw to take with me on jobs out of the shop and I found that it does exactly what i want it to do but I got tired of having my ankles chewed up by the cheap sheet metal base. I welded up a new base with real wheels and, when the saw wears out, i can buy another and mount it on the same base.
Reply:nice work, thats a good looking table. |
