I'm new to TIG welding, and one of my problems is to find the right rod to fill with when I weld. Are there any universal rods? One of the metals I gona weld is the metal that is on my old rusty car Subaru 90mod. I have no idea of what alloy it is, only that it defently not is stainless.Any tip?
Reply:get er70s for steel, 308/09 for stainless and i believe 6061 for al...i will get the book later tonight and send you a p.m. dawg
Reply:That's what I use except I use 4043 as filler on aluminum, never seen 6061 filler but that doesn't mean it's not out there.
Reply:This page will give you some more information,http://www.millerwelds.com/education...articles30.phpAs far as the rusty car body is concerned, look into everdure, it's fairly easy to run, and will stick tin together.Appreciation Gains You Recognition- |
