Think ive seen that there is aluminum flux core for mig? Dose it require a spool gun like gas shielding wire? Would like to use it with my 3045 fc if possibleno you cant fix it with a hot pass.BORN TO LOSE, LIVE TO WIN.
Reply:i really dont think that such prduct is out there, maybe your getting confused with the oxy acc rod ? but i have never heard of it ..dawg
Reply:Someone might prove me wrong, But I've never seen fluxcore Aluminum. I have a Miller "SGA 100C" controller, and a 3035 spoolgun to run off of my Ranger 8, which is the same as your 225 Bobcat. I haven't used the controller in a long time, Now If I need to I just plug my MM210 into the Ranger. and use the spoolgun with the 210. Even if you want to use the 3045, you'll have to get the solenoid kit, and use pure argon for aluminum. If you keep the lead, and everything straight, you might get away with .030" 5356 with your M25 gun.
Reply:Fluxcore aluminum? That's the most unheard of thing I've ever heard of! (somehow, that didn't come out right) Anyhow, at times it's tough enough trying to get solid aluminum wire to feed through a mig gun, even with a teflon liner. Fluxcore, if there were such a thing, would probably be even less stiff and worse, although it might work from a spoolgun. But since most fluxcore welding materials generate CO2 (and nasty smoke), which doesn't work well with aluminum, I can't imagine what witches brew of a fluxcore would be required to generate argon. Bottom line is I've never heard of fluxcore aluminum. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, so someone enlighten me if it does. Fluxcore solder - now that's a whole different ball game.
Reply:Maybe I was wrong i read allot of material and could be mixed up And it is some wishful thinking.no you cant fix it with a hot pass.BORN TO LOSE, LIVE TO WIN.
Reply:i seen this at (hf) store the outher day they do make it flux core someone told me you need to have a long wire out be fore you start welding hope this help |
