My turn for a welding cart project.

I've been looking at building a new welding cart for years and just never had time. Well the day after Thanksgiving I found a roll away tool box that was cheap enough for me to buy and use as a welding cart. I figured I hadn't built something yet so I just bit the bullet and bought something ready made. After I bought it and got it home I came across a friends old welding cart that he was going to send to the scrap yard.  SO now I was torn between making something outta his old cart or using the roll away. So this is what I came up with.I didn't take any pics of what it stated out as but I took everything off except the base and front face that holds the small toolbox. And as with all my other projects I used old parts that I had laying around.Plus it fits nicely in my shelving unit and tucks away out of sight.In with the new and out with the old.

Reply:good use of the axle shaft and spider gears.I have a sheared pinion gear waiting to be a shifter.Have we all gone mad?
Reply:That's great it looks like it was meant to be together from the start, and if you need a tool it'll always be on the other side of your welder. just make sure you get the locking wheels.

Reply:Very slick!  When put away it's just a toolbox, but pull it out and turn it 90 degrees and it's a welding cart!I might just have to use a similar design one day!

Reply:yeah you can mount them horizontally. I've heard of people rotating them occasionally to keep everything in the inside from settling on one side. Don't know if that actually helps to prolong a fire extinguishers life or not.
