Reply:I've seen a few bad ones roll though Beall repair(back when I worked there), but not quite that bad.. It'll be in the shop for a week or two.   What was in it?Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:Holy crap Batman!!!You get all the fun jobs..You'll get along just fine with Wello..He does big stuff like that "Down Under"Merry Christmas.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:It had palm oil in it. Evidently, the vacuum relief must've been clogged somehow, and the guys unloading did not open the dome lid!!!!!! I have seen quite a few also but you are right, this one took the cake. We did manage to save the tank. It has been decoded to a non-hazardous material hauler, but she still rolls biodiesel and stuff last I checked.
Reply:Wow!!! That's a pretty munched up looking piece of equipment. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:What a challenge!DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:Pretty amazing. I would have thought the tank itself would have been considered totaled.
Reply:Awww.. stick it in a fire and air it up.   On hazardous tanks I did yearly tests on the safety diaframs(forget what there were actually called) that would blow out, in or be an open vent.  I think the other non-hazardous tanks had to be test every 5 or so years.  I take it this tank wasn't equiped with those valves.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:the area of the tank that was crumpled was only about 7 feet, but there was the "belly" section that was caved in all the way up to about10 feet from the front end of the tank. The whole job wasn't the funnest ever. but when we filled it with water and pressurized it to     oh say  7psi   Haleluhja!.Last edited by Mark...; 12-25-2007 at 04:36 PM.
Reply:What did you do about the rear suspension assembly?  I would image you would have to stiffen and tie it into the good part of the tank.  The most we ever had to replace was from 50% from the bottom to 75% because an acid was allowed to sit in the tank, mix is oxygen an ate the stainless for over a year and so it didn't pass UT though those areas.  That was a month long job.  And to top it off, it was insulated.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:So that skin on the outside is just a cover? I never knew that. I always thought what I saw on the outside was the wall of the tank
