Monowheel Motorcycle trailer..

I started building this mono wheel motorcycle trailer for my father-in-law for Christmas on Dec 15th.  I know some of you probably ride bikes and figured you might like this.  Anyway I copied this from my blog which can be found here. http://www.wesleycombs.com/blog/tabi...7/Default.aspxIt's designed to track with the motorcycle as it leans through the curves.  He mentioned a trailer before but didn't want one because of the way it would track so I decided to build him one that would work a little better.I started off by building a frame out of 1" steel and welded the Square axle stud to it.  I will be using a trailer 4 lug hub from Northern tools and the corresponding stud. Next I cut some V-notches out of some 1" angle iron and bent it into a rectangle.  Then I welded it all together.Squaring up basket frame.Welding Frame to basket FrameMore weldingFinished with Day 1.Designing and building the hitch that allows the trailer to work.I cut these two pieces out of some 1.5" sq stock and cut 1 side out to make them into a C then put them back to back and rotated one 90* and welded. This is the trick to the trailer which allows it to pivot left/right and up down but not let the trailer fall over while the bike it stoped.Full picture for Day 2.Finished Day 2Next Post....
Reply:Finished up the trailer tonight. Installed a floor, painted it and installed a light and wiring.I used expanded steel for the floor. I cut it using my TD101 and it worked awesome, then I welded it to the frame. Next I installed a rear light and also drilled some holes for the wiring. Then I spent some time painting it.Cutting expanded steelUnwrapping it Brother-In-Law and Father-In-Law testing the fit.. Just needs to get a trailer hitch.

Reply:I had no idea what the hell that thing was going to be until the last picture. hehaI was imagining a trailer that the motorcycle sat on while being towed by a truck. I could not figure out how it was going to work!!!Thanks for the pics.
