arc-assist mig?

I recently ran across a term I was unaccustomed to seeing regarding welding. On the chaski bulletin board there is a post relating to an arc-assist mig gun. I cant google up any decent info on this, can anybody tell me what it is and where I can get some info on it?? Reply:Could you be thinking about a Spoolgun??, I've never heard of an arc-assist mig gun, There are arc assist stick machines though, they just up the voltage a little when you start the arcStangnetShop Full Of Stuff. Joey
