Reply:Its a powcon and if it works $200 is a steal. The one I own is single or three phase also.
Reply:Is it a stick only machine or stick and CV ? Be real sure of the imput voltage and phase Before you buy.
Reply:I have a PowCon 300SM, which is cc/cv dc 1 & 3 phase 230/460v. It's a good mig and stick welding power source with puddle control for the mig function. Mine also came with a mig pulser. The mig functions no longer work on mine due to some problem with it, but it was a very nice mig welder when it did work and it's still a good stick welder. If the model number ends in S, it is a stick-only machine. If it ends in ST, it's a stick and dc tig machine. If ends in SMT, it's stick, mig and dc tig capable. You can acquire information, parts and service from Arc Products in San Diego, CA. www.arcproducts.com. They are the official PowCon repair facility.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:Is it a Powercon or a Powcon welder? My initial reaction (and that of other posters here) was to think that you misspelled the name and it was actually a Powcon. There is a Powercon Electric welder manufacturer in West Bengal, India. If it is a Powcon I agree with down19992000 that it is a steal at $200 PROVIDED that it works, is compatible with your power supply (don't worry about the number of phases - they are easy to convert), and has the functions you need. If it is a Powercon it may still be a good deal to get any inverter welder at that price if it works. But I know nothing about Powercon while I do have a Powcon. I wouldn't worry about the cosmetics if it works and if the innards look OK.awright |
