Reply:lilblaster,One of the most common projects for a welder while learning is a welding cart and/or a welding table. Building a welding cart or a welding table (or some combination of the two) can be as complex or as simple as you would like to make it. Here's the first welding cart that I built http://www.improvised-engineering.co....php?f=10&t=10 (also acted as a welding table, although I just sold it along with my wirefeed welder to a friend since I got my TIG). The welding cart/table I'm in the process of designing for my TIG welder is noticeably more complex than that cart. Other projects which are great to build at little art projects. They tend to provide a good deal of practice in welding around corners, and welding thin material. In order to learn thicker material, I'd always just recommend buying scraps of different sizes/types of metal and then weld things together, and keep going from there. The more practice you get, the better you will get (even if that practice is just a bunch of rusty scrap steel).--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow
Reply:you said your getting a stick welder.. so if it doesn't have a cart then theres your project. or a small table ,if you have a place to get scrap mteal. think of something you can use
Reply:The lincoln site and miller site both offer a list of projects. Could be hobart does too, never really looked.
