Simple Flatbed Trailer

Hey Gang!  I'm still stuck over here in Baghdad... about 4 more months to go.  I can't wait to get back in the shop and get some of my projects finished, and of course start some new ones.  Here's a pic my wife sent me of a little flatbed trailer I managed to get finished up right before I deployed.  I may add some removable sides in the future.The only things I had to buy were the hitch, jack, fender blanks, and wheels.  Everything else I had laying around.  I used the MIG for everything except the backs of the fenders, which I cut out with the plasma cutter and TIGged in place.Sorry I don't have any in-progress pictures, and no closeups of the welds.  This is the only picture I have right now.  Maybe you guys could share some pics of your trailer projects. Reply:Thank you for your sacrifice. I appreciate it. Here is one of mine. It was originally a flatbed for the chevy behind it. the sides are in stake pockets. I never got around to painting it because it was too useful. Maybe this summer.Tractor supply is a great source for trailer parts. It was painted when I built it for the chevy years ago,but PA road salt has a way of really killing finishes. Attached Images

Reply:I went for your option 2 when I retired.  Add in a little fishing, hunting wood working and you will be amazed you ever had time to work.  You will find yourself making all sorts things beyond the yard art to support all your non welding activity.I recommend you try it out.  Worst case it's not to your liking and you go for option 1 and start welding full time.
