I am looking for 14g perforated sq tubing.I found it at Lowe's which is great but, expensive, had only 2 pieces in stock, and galvinized which I thik will be a problem as I want to powder coat these.LinkAny advice on an online shop that carries these that aren't galvenized?I need 1", 1.25", and 1.5" 14g.I tried a couple local places with no luck.
Reply:There are several you could try, but not sure what they have as my catalogs are out in the shop. McNichols is the first that comes to mind - I've bought perforated sheet from them before. They may have perf. sq. available on special order. It probably won't be cheap.Don't know how long a piece you want or what you're using it for, but would it work to buy perforated sheet, shear and brake it into (2) 90 deg angles, and tack them together to make sq tubing?
Reply:Thanks for the info! Unfortunately I just called McNichols (boston location) and they don't carry perforated sq tubing. I may end up making my own if I can't find a place that carries this stuff. Really surprised at how hard this is to find (yet I can walk into Lowe's and they carry it). Any help is much appreciated!
Reply:I haven't checked their site for it, but try speedymetals.com I have bought many items from them at good prices. I have a friend with a welding shop who buys from them from time to time because of the prices.

Reply:Unfortunately speedymetals doesn't have it either. It's strange most of the major metal shops online don't carry it for whatever reason. Thanks GabZip. Is there anything mcmaster's doesn't have?! I love that site, it's massive! They don't have 1" perforated tubing but hopefully I can find a shop that can get it. |
