I seem to be having problems running welds because I am not always able to see where I need to go with the weld. I run into most of my problem when welding pipe.I have been reading and searching and cannot find an answer as to what to do.I mean is there a rule to be sure you can see where to continue with a weld while watching the bead? Or do you ust learn to know where you are and where your going without having to look?I switched from innershield to mig because the smoke would get in my way a lot. Not I am trying to weld some notched pipe joints and still having problem actually seeing my path. Thanks in advance for your help.Mike
Reply:Position your body so that you will be able to see after you start. Think about where you will need to be when you start welding, and where you will need to be when you're done, and try to position yourself in a way so that you can see for the whole pass. What The *#$%
Reply:What lens shade are you using? If you don't have and auto-darkening, adjustable shade hat, one of those might help you. It sure helped me.Hank

Reply:I have an auto darkening helmet. It also has the darkness adjustment. I have trid from 9-10 on shades. I was hoping there was this special trick to doing this...Build a Barstool Racer at BarFlyRacers.com! |
