please comment don't be nice just say it!!
Reply:Mig, I suspect? On the last photo seem like you concentrated more on the round than the plate. First photo looks good.Second photo looks hot. Too much heat. Are you welding around the area, like the other side of the plate. That will make the material hot and require heat adjustment if you keep welding in that area. Also, welding at the edge of the metal will require less heat than starting in the middle of a piece of metal.
Reply:Last one, I would have made 3 passes instead of one. The rest, what tapwelder said.Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:First time eh!
Reply:everyone has to start somewhere. They are not bad but play around with the settings for simillar situations. also try different movements. there are some movements that will dig more and some that will lay a nicer bead. circles and stichwelds make for nice ooking beads and when done properly they will make sure that both pieces of medium get equal heat and filler. My favorite motion is a modified version of the whip and pause motion of say 6010 or 6011. (but with the mig gun instead. This can create either a "stack of dimes" look or a smoother but structured look and seems to help from getting too much heat. |
