This was a freebie for my daughter in her second year of college. Its a 1993 F150 with 205K miles on it. 6 banger, slush box (auto). My son ran the plasma, I fit and welded. We did it in a little over an hour. This is not a restoration, Its just keep the kid from falling out and keep the integrity of the cab. This is my daughter the photographer laying on a creeper. All I had was 1/8" X 4". All cuts were made with a hypeartherm 600. I put a 24" piece vertically between those 2 plates. Tacked it in and cut it off with the plasma. Grind and weld....Machine, SP100 set on J8 .023 wire, C/25. They got a great shot of my butt, but I aint showin it.Complete including Duct Tape.No close ups of the welds. This one was just get er done! I used about 12 liner feat of the 1/8" X 4" I also welded the seat belt anchor to the new piece. It was pretty punky around there too.Last edited by David R; 01-26-2008 at 06:03 PM.Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:Thats a cool father daughter project to have. My dad just gave me a 97' f250 powerstroke and I will have to replace a little bit of the floor pan. and I also had to take out the engine and rebuilt the short block. with a new block pistons etc... hope she enjoys the truck!
