i was looking at welding carts and i have 2 questions. first can people post pics of there carts that hold stick welders and second is why do some people have there welder on an angle?thanks Matt
Reply:the angle is preference really. its easier to adjust/read if you are up above it, possibly sitting at a table.
Reply:oh the welder I'm getting in the spring is on a very little cart that wont be able to go out of my dads garage at all so i am thinking for a first project to make a welding cart to hold the welder all my rods and my hood and other safety gear
Reply:and other tools any suggestionsLast edited by lilblaster; 01-21-2008 at 10:11 PM.
Reply:building a cart with a table top integrated into it is probably the best idea ever. not a huge table, maybe 3x1 3x1.5 feet. that gives you room to make little things like ornamental stuff, and a little larger things if you clamp down
Reply:OK thanks any pics of stick welding carts??
Reply:I am actually building my first cart and it is for my Lincoln AC225. I can post some pics if you'd like. Nothing spectacular though.
Reply:I dont recomend building a cart with the table on top of it for the simple reason that you want to keep your welder out of slag and spatters way at all times.  I know there is not any moving parts in an arc welder but when your welder is clean it will perform much better.  I guess if you only have very limited space and need to do this is the only time I would personally do this.  I have a Miller 180 that I have had for a little over 6 months now and I could almost sell it as a new machine.  always take care of your equipment and it will take care of you.

Reply:Then that would be a suitable table top I was thinking of just like a little 3'x3' or something
Reply:can you post some pics of the cart your building
Reply:I just used a small shopping cart someone abandoned (again) on my lawn.  All it needed was a place to wrap the wires to keep them neat.  Its a mig cart but you can stick a small stick welder on it also.
