Hello everyone, I have no experience in welding and was trying to figure out what's a good general purpose welder. I just discovered that a portion of my motorcycle frame was cracked and would like to know what type of welder would be good to repair this. since it is winter and I'm not riding I figure I can do some practice before actually working on the bike. I'm also on a fixed income and don't want to spend too much on a piece of equiptment that I'm going to use only ocasionally. the body shop wants $125 just to weld one spot. so that's not an option. thanks

Reply:thanks for the responses. the damage isn't on the main frame, just the part that holds the front cowling that encloses the headlight. thanks again

The dealer welded it for me and didn't charge me a dime.If stuff like that fall off a moving bike the result just CAN'T be pretty.Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." |
