Solar plasma cutter help???

Hey everyone.  I have a solar 2050 plasma cutter that I need some help with.  It wont strike an arc, wont do anything.I opened up the head, found out the air tube that connects from the machine-a small 1/8 inch size line-to the angled mixer part in the handle is broke. It's kind of hard to explain, but basically I was told that it would be easier to just replace the whole part. I haven't been able to find any place to order this, other than http://weldmart.com/CENTURY%20DAYTON...CH%20PARTS.htmSomeone local told me there was a place in Pennsylvania that sold the whole handle and that all I had to do was take the old one apart, hook up the wires and the air tube and reassemble and go to work, but I haven't had any luck finding anywhere to find it.  The only other one I have found is coming to about 600 dollars for replacement parts and I don't have or want to spend that much on this machine as I don't use it that often and can't justify spending that much on it.  Therefore, I am asking y'all if anyone knows where I can find parts for this thing.  Thanks so much for your time and any help I can get with this.
Reply:How about a picture of the torch assembly....depending on the vintage it could be an older Hypertherm style torch.Jim Colt
Reply:look on the front panel down were the ratings are. see if your model number is 118 015.If it is, the complete torch is part number 238-456-000 and can be ordered by that number from any welding supply store from Lincoln electric.I found a parts break down of the torch. PM me your e-mail and i will send you it.Jim the century part number was 238-285-100  I think its one of the 121 torches.The new Lincoln number I think is the 125 replacement for the 121.
Reply:change that. the new torch uses 120556 head  a pac121ts main body.use these numbers only , if model number is 118 015cost around $204 plus shipping and depending on store mark ups. there should be laser printing on the torch head above the o-ring on the flat. Picture of that will help Jim tell You if i am right.
Reply:Its kind of funny.....I've been with Hypertherm for over 32 years.....but I need pictures to identify torches.....my excuse is that I spend most of my time working with our industrial mechanized only systems......has nothing to do with aging!Thanks for the part number help CCAWG!  (a picture will verify that it is correct though)Jim Colt
Reply:I have a copy of the century service files and books. There is a picture of the torch I think is on his machine. On the picture is both lincoln and hypertherm part numbers.It's all in knowing where to look. A picture of the printing on the torch head will confirm what he needs. and the 118 xxx model number.

Reply:That picture is of a dead copy (Cebora) of an old Hypertherm Max 40 high frequency start torch. It may work....Jim
Reply:That torch head will not work. The solar 2050 does not use HF to start the arc.Jim the original torch is a hyperhterm 121PB  Hard rubber handle with push button switch on the top. Moving electrode torch The old 2040 has HF and uses a max 40 style torch. A pac 140238_456_000.pdf this is the current replacement torch from lincoln
Reply:Thanks.....I have no way of tracking which torches work on the old Century style power supplies....the earlier ones used high frequency start torches.Jim

Reply:Holy cow! I didn't realize I had been away this long and had so many responses to this. Where in the heck has the summer gone? WOW. Anyway, I will try to get some pics of the machine and the torch head to see if y'all are right here, I am at a loss as to what to do. I did reinstall the original torch head, first owner said he had to replace it and had it laying in the shop, and still have nothing. Guess it was worth a chance trying. Anyhow, if anyone catches this added reply, I will be getting pics and any other info I can and posting them here as soon as I can.Thank you for the help so far! Much appreciated!!
