Fried Polarity Switch...Again!!

I went to weld some Aluminum today..As I went to switch from DC to AC I heard that unmistakable "snap"..The exact same thing happened 8-9 months ago..I guess it don't like "wide open welding" for long periods of time..Instead of just replacing the melted piece I changed out the whole switch this time..All is well now..And class is still on for Saturday.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Man that sucks Zap.  Maybe put a little contact grease on it also.Hope this on last longer, that does not look like a cheap switch!Me!
Reply:Cool - where did you get parts?I hate to say but your main power cable might be giving some resistance. We had to replace one in a Lincoln sq.wave 350 - same thing Al weld then POP.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:Ya know, for costing that much I think I would leave it in one spot and just get some Tweco qwik -connects for the leads...
