diamond plate

ive tried using a jigsaw with a metal blade trying to cut diamond plate but found it really hard. so i was wondering what is the easiest way to cut it.
Reply:Steel, Aluminum?  It don't matter a shear is always the easiest if available.  Plasma will do (if available).  You can buy abrasive blades to fit a skil saw (they even have em at walmart) to do it, if it's aluminum it'll get clogged after a bit though.  That would be cheapest if you already have a skil saw.  I bought one of the metal cutting skil type saws at TSC on sale for around $80 but I think they usually run around $120, they are worth it.  Mine slices through 1/8" steel tread plate like butter!DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Like the other guys have stated, shear is the best.However if all you have is a jigsaw and it's Ally you're cutting, then use a wood blade, or coarse metal blade and WD40 or parafin to lube the blade. A disc on Ally will tend to clog up a lot.
