Anyone use a Mq welder?

I have a guy who wants to trade me a Mq whisperweld 300 for one of my dirt bikes, i'm lookin to build another rig but don't know much about the welding capabilities of this machine, it seems good but it's not a sa-200 so if ya'll have any input please help me out!
Reply:Hello sococrawler, not completely familiar with this particular machine, however, I can tell you that the ones that I have used of this breed have been very sufficient for the intended purpose. If it is a diesel, they are some of the quietest machines around. It also likely has some generation capabilities if I remember correctly, quite a bit. They are also very economical and easy on fuel. The ones that I used were for stick welding, didn't use them for wire and not sure whether they had that capability. What I don't remember: whether they had CV output(that's the wire part that I can't remember), if that is a requirement of yours then it might not be a good choice. What sort of monies are you looking at(what's your bike worth), a machine of that size with generation capability, reasonable hours, could be worth anwhere between $1000 to possibly $4-5000 depending upon it's age, hours, etc.? If you had a few more details I believe you will get some very accurate suggestions, either for or against. Best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:thanks for the reply the model we are workin with is a mq 300 model # tlw300-ssI'm not to worried about running wire off it, I want a good burn on my rods and a good solid arc for tiggin pipe, my bike is worth $2500 and i'm leary bout these machines as all you see are miller's and lincolns, when i pipelined for dixie we just ran our liner's and that was that so now that i'm comin into this century i guess it's time to step up, i just wanted to know if some one has used one for these applications, i see plumbing companies use them but that's not petroleum!Thanks
Reply:There is a contract company at my work that uses only MQ welders. I have never seen them besides this. I do know that the MQ whisperwatt generators are supposed to be very high quality.
