I used to feather my stop/starts and it made all the difference.Last edited by mb_welder; 04-02-2008 at 07:28 AM.
Reply:For caps on horz pipe welds...there's a technique called the Texas weave...The way you do It Is weave on a 45 degree angle like this------->//////////////...Only on a 45...try it someday...the trick is to have no undercut

Reply:viola thats a very good effort at whats probably the hardest position to get right, if thats only your second root on 2g you wont take long to perfect it.as regards your cap, i would concentrate on stringers for now,as gearjam suggests you can weave on 2g but this is very difficult, its only a personal opinion but this is hard on 6g, its a bloody nightmare on 2g, even if you opt for a double weave.good luck in your pipe career . pipefitter
Reply:I never heard it called that gearjam but I use it. I figured it out on my own. If you are doing that well already violated then you will get it and soon. Listen to pipefitter as everything he said is true. I don't use a weave at all on code work anymore. Strictly stringers due to less chance of mistakes. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist. |
