First off I work at a company that welds high temp alloys. I'm not new to welding, but new to hast. I'm actually really good at welding it, just somthing recent has become a slight problem.I've been welding hastx (ernicrmo-2) joints together with a perfect puddle, no cracks. But just recently the puddle looks a lil ununiformed. Pretty much the best way to describe it. I'm wondering what has caused this? Its very frusterating. Its still strong, just not the prettest looking thing. Is this because I've up the thickness of the two joints? 3/16, to 3/16. Weling at 140amps, with a 3/32 tungsten, gas lense. With about 15cfh. Any ideas? Please respond with as less PHD talk as u possiblly can. Thanks!
Reply:Could this be a shop vent system circulating air, shifting my cover gas. Which would be slightly shifting my puddle?? |
