Here's some pics of my new Lincon ranger 250 and the trailer I built for it.  I'll be adding a powermig to it also.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:You're towing a Ranger with a Ranger?  Isn't there some Biblical law against that?Looks sharp!  Gonna haul the PowerMIG around on the trailer, too?  What kind of work do you specialize in?  Or TRY to specialize in?  That's usually a more accurate question...
Reply:Well done. Very neat work. Nice attention to detail. Heavy duty checker plate fenders and tail light protectors.
Reply:Due to the size of the trailer, i am assuming that the trailer will be multi purpose , it is large for just welding . Did you paint it yourself ? looks really nice .
Reply:I plan on buying a powermig this weekend.  I want the portability but I also want one that I can set up in the shop because that's probably where I'll use it most.  I have to get an adapter or something to plug it up.  Four prong on the Ranger and 3 on the powermig.  At this point I don't turn down any work but I like to build trailers, handrai, gooseneck hitches, mailbox stands, truck beds, almost anything.I did built the trailer for multi-purpose.  The lead racks just sit in a piece of 2" tubing for quick removal and 4 bolts in the welder.  I did paint the trailer myself, it is bright red from TSC.  That was the first time I used that paint and it worked very well.  Thank you for the great comments, I believe if you take pride in something you build it shows in the finished product.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Sweet trailer. Nice welder too but it sure looks lonely up there

Reply:I can see you guys are jealous  !  or you wouldn't be wanting to load it down till it loses its  charm. (heh  heh )
Reply:Re the floor, it appears to be checker plate, is that correct?  If so, is it one large piece? and how big is that piece?   What would that have cost you? Thanks
Reply:I just haven't gotten around to mounting my other tools yet.  I just bought a aluminum toolbox for the front.  Acutally I bought 2 aluminum toolboxes for $75, pretty sweet deal.  I still got to mount my torch and powermig when I get it.  I'm thinking of making a swing out table for it, so that it will swing away from the trailer when I need it.  I hate the thought of throwing sparks all over my paint job, the pics really don't do it justice, looks like it's been buffed.  Might add a steel rack too.The floor is 1/8 checker plate. It's in three pcs. The trailer 6' x 12' so I had 3 pcs. 4' x 8' and had enough drop to put a floor over the tongue, I didn't get a good pic of that so I'll post another one when I get a chance. The plate cost $100 a piece.  I got around $1000 in it, which ain't to bad.  It has LEDs all the way around, I think I splurged a little bit, but it was worth all the compliments I've gotten.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:very nice trailer and a good price as well Creative metal Creative metal Facebook
Reply:Here are some new pics of the trailer after I added my box and torch.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:What's your tongue weight going to be when it's fully loaded?
Reply:Not quite sure.  The frame is 4" x 4" tubing 3/16" wall.  I can still pick the tongue up though.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:Oh yeah the tongue goes through the frame about 4' under the floor.  The tongue is 5" x 3" tubing 1/4" wall, that's what I had laying around.  It's still not bad though, I'm not exceeding the weight limit on the bumper yet, maybe after I add everything else it might.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:That is sure a good looking trailer, You have just inspired me to get on and finish the one I half built about a year ago. Simonhttp://members.optusnet.com.au/~abba/index.html
Reply:Wow, that's great.  I have many half built projects too.  i get inspiration from this site but many times I get bored or disgusted with  a project.  You have inspired me to start a thread for half built projects.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:Well I learned a lesson today.  Come to find out a ranger 250 won't pull a powermig 255.  I could get it to weld pretty good but when I cranked it up the 250 didn't put out enough amps to the 220 to pull it.  So I'm taking it back tommorrow and swapping for a LN-25.  The 255 welded great on shop power.  It saves me over $500 anyway.  Anyone think $1321 is a good price for a new LN-25?DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:WOW, thats one spiffy lookin Trailer!GREAT job! -StouffREAL Truks aint gots Spark PlugsNuthin like the Smell of Fresh Slag

Reply:snap son, im in love with the trailer.... wow man, i wanted a rig, but my pimped s15 could just pull a trailer instead.... best of both worlds
Reply:Here's some add ons for the trailerthe table I built for the trailercolor don't match yet, just spray painted for now until I'm done with itIt swings around to the side of the trailer so I can work off of the side.  It has fold down legs under itthe new LN-25I also got a vise I still got to mount and my mixed gas bottle. This trailer's starting to get heavy.  I may have to start pulling it with the other truck.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. toolshere's the viseDewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:I wouldn't leave that rig laying around - it looks too nice.  You will need an armed guard to make sure no one runs off with your stuff. (or a big dog!)  Make sure you equipment is locked down where possible.
Reply:reference to  #20 ;  i think that was decent price. about what i paid for ln-25 about 1992 . too bad i only  used it ONCE since i bought it . burned about 10-15  lb. of innershield . hard facing  wire . actually , i paid about 1800for  IT  and a constant voltage adapter for my SA-250
Reply:Finally made me some bottle racksI mounted it under the table so it will be out of the wayI made it a double rack so when I get my tig setup I'll have a place to put my argon. Finally mounted my vise tooDewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:Looking good !John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Nice looking trailer.Youv`e got some good ideas incorporated in the design.Should serve you well. Thanks for sharing.
Reply:Excellent layout and fabrication!  Looks FANTASTIC!!!Kepp sending the pics as you add thing, this has been a really great post...  I weld just to keep my snow plows ready for next Winter!
Reply:show us the over all fully loaded          oh yea, and it looks like that bottle scratched your paint a bit
Reply:Great setup.  Excellent job on the trailerI'd suggest moving the table to the passengers side. With the table on the drivers side-if you are parked at the side of the street, then you will be in the path of traffic while working.
Reply:That is a thought, I don't believe I'll be in a situation where I couldn't get around that issue though.  the trailer did get scratched up a bit, it hurt but that's what it's for.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:Now you guys are starting to nit-pic!  I weld just to keep my snow plows ready for next Winter!
Reply:It looks great! Like someone above said, however......watch where you park it!
Reply:Plowman, by no means was my post a "nit-pic".I initially had all my stuff on the drivers, also.  I changed it because I often end up parking on the street.  Working in new construction areas there is usually much congestion and narrow streets. Also, there are not options, other than the street, when I park in downtown Nashville.I also even moved the tools I most frequently used to the passenger side of the tool box.  Working off the passengers side literally keeps my butt out of the street.Last edited by tapwelder; 06-24-2006 at 01:30 PM.
Reply:Tap, I was actually kidding...but I was kidding about the scratched paint!Your passenger side sugestion was actually pretty good...I weld just to keep my snow plows ready for next Winter!
Reply:Nice Job, one of the best I´ve seen. However you might want to fasten those oxy-ace tanks. Heard of one that fell and destroyed 2 walls of a brick house. You don´t want to have inter-continental missiles probably targeting at your nice looking trailer
Reply:The oxy-acetylene tanks have new clamps on them.  Just like the ones for my 75-25 except mounted on a cart which has a bolt holding it to the floor of the trailer.  I haven't posted pics yet of that setup.  I'll try to get some more pics on here.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Originally Posted by BruceVery NICE! I like it, it has to be easier than backing a boat trailer down a ramp! What about mounting your work table so it swings both ways, to the left or the right?
