Last time I used my machine was about 6 months ago, I let it cool before switching off. Just yesterday went to use it, and no clicky, no wire feed, no arc. Only fan..The only test I did was jumper the trigger wires on the panel. After dropping it off @ the local welder repair shop they said that everything check's out per the troubleshooting check list it must be the "circuit board". He said good - 24DCV @ the board, Dials, Diodes, Thermal switch. Basically it comes down to $260 for a new board from Lincoln, or send the board out to some place in VA, and they will repair it for about $90. Either way I still pay there $75 hourly rate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanx, MIKE
Reply:I am advertising a 100 amp century powermate on ebay. I am selling it with two 10 lbs rolls of flux core wire, one is partial other is new and two 10 lb rolls of solid wire, one partial one new. Also included is a new liner and trigger switch. I used this machine regularly for about five years. It runs great. Only problem I had with it was a broken trigger switch once, hence the extra switch.
Reply:The Lincoln SP135+ has been having electical problems because of components being made in Asia. Lincoln is trying to save money so you get the not so great unit. In San Diego the Lincoln Rep Bill Soulder sells Lincoln Machines and fill wires direct to customers, bypassing the distributor.Go Figure ?????? |
