Does anyone know of any books/ charts or anything that would fit in my toolbox and my budget that has suggested pre heat temps of various types of steel? like the ASTM grades and the high carbon steels. Anything helps
Reply:Go to your LWS and ask for the ESAB Filler metal data book. In the back it has a chart with the majority of the ASTM classes with a recommended preheat temperature for all. Also it has a recommended product that you would use for that material as well as for different processes. If you can't get one from them you can PM me your address and I will send you one. Great reference book.
