Thought on which machine would be the most appropriate.Of the three, MM180 and spool mate gun 1090.00 (I could not care less about auto-set"Lincoln 180c and spool gun 1003.00Hobart handler 210 with spool gun 949.00 949.99I will be doing aluminum mostly in the form of .080, and ,063 sheet, and 1/16, 1/8" bar, and tube. The rest of the time I will be doing steel.I may make the equivalent of 3-4 truck boxes a month from aluminum at the most, so it is a bit more than a hobby machine, but not quite a commercial machine.I have used all three brands, over the years, 110v machines, and the miller, and lincoln in 220vI have a HH 135, and a lincoln 225 now. Both have been great machines,Personally, before pricing them all out today, I was leaning towards the Hobart, from past excellent performance, and quality of machine. I am a happy Hobart customer, so I would appreciate some outside opinions, in case I am biased

Reply:I like the Hobart Ironman 230, much better duty cycle and 12 taps for voltage. Great reviews from several users on this forum.http://store.cyberweld.com/hoir230migwe.htmlThey also have some excellent spool guns. You just can't beat the Hobart warranty (5 years) and the value.

Reply:I bought a MM211 a couple months ago and I think it is fantastic. Even though I have only used 110V so far, it kicks @ss on any other 110V I have used. Got it on Ebay for $950 shipping included. So far I have run a 2# spool of .023 and a 2# spool of .030 wire, no flux yet but it is my next spool to try.BillMillermatic 2111960 Ford Ranchero1975 Dodge B200 |
