Reply:I tell you what, there isn't a jet ski (or three) made that'll stress that trailer.
Reply:thanksIt is 3" 10ga channel and the tongue is 2.5 square tube .25 wall the braces for the tongue are 1.5" angle .25 thick it is a 3500 lbs axle I had to go that big to get the width that I needed. When it is done I will post a pic with the ski's on it .:Miller 330 A/BP Bernard SS coolerMiller cst 250Miller Big Blue 251DCentury 210 Mig (first welder I bought)Hypertherm PowerMax 800Victor torch setRu Fong 31 MilAtlas lathe
Reply:very nice trailer!!!     i love the design.......  did you design it yourself or did you have some plans?   also if you dont mind me asking,  about how much do you have into it so far?   im thinking about building a jet ski trailer also  and like the ways yours came out.  mike
Reply:Yes i did my own design. I have not totaled the cost up yet I'm at about 650$ that includes a new axle and springs 150$ shipped to my door the material I'm able to buy at cost from work so it is a lot cheaper than buying from a supplier. The paint was expensive 130$ for paint and supplies.I tryed to buy a used one but could not find a good one for a decent price close to home and new double trailer is about 1900$ I will post a finished pic later this week.Miller 330 A/BP Bernard SS coolerMiller cst 250Miller Big Blue 251DCentury 210 Mig (first welder I bought)Hypertherm PowerMax 800Victor torch setRu Fong 31 MilAtlas lathe
Reply:I bought an '08 Yacht Club double for about $1000. It's a BIG trailer, almost 9' wide (on the outside of the tires). I like the compactness of yours though. I've got probably another 8' in front of my ski's to the ball. It's almost too big.Last edited by rat4spd; 06-09-2008 at 06:45 PM.
Reply:did you draw it out or did you design it as you went along?   would you be willing to sell the plans? also what kind of welder did you use?  thanks
Reply:Yes I did it on auto cad but I'm not willing to sell the plans let's just say there are many reasons. there are plans on ebay that are similar you really need to adjust them to the ski's you have. I welded the trailer with my Century mig with .035 wire with 75 / 25 gas.Miller 330 A/BP Bernard SS coolerMiller cst 250Miller Big Blue 251DCentury 210 Mig (first welder I bought)Hypertherm PowerMax 800Victor torch setRu Fong 31 MilAtlas lathe

Reply:Your trailer doesn't look that big to me in the pic's. One thing is for sure though, you have a heck of a trailer there for the money you have in it. It's certainly a lot beffier than an OEM trailer.

Reply:Toolman, that is a good looking trailer. Thanks for the pics.build another one and someone is sure to come along and buy it from you.
Reply:thanks for the positive commentsI ended up with 730.00 dollar's in it not counting my time but that does include the cost of welding supplies I already had gas wire grinding wheels etc. I still need the right size tires the tires and wheels came from a local junk yard i'm keeping the wheels and getting new tires at some point.Headed for the river today to blow some four dollar and fifteen cent gas here in Ohio.Miller 330 A/BP Bernard SS coolerMiller cst 250Miller Big Blue 251DCentury 210 Mig (first welder I bought)Hypertherm PowerMax 800Victor torch setRu Fong 31 MilAtlas lathe
Reply:Nice job. Are you lights waterproof? If not will water harm them? Always wondered. Also I noticed in your sig. you have Rong Fu mill, I have one it is used and awfull loose, was wondering if they are all like that, or or some actually useable.Tim Beeker.
Reply:Yes they are water proof you can buy them either way.I bought my mill used it is in good shape and works well. you said loose what is loose. There is a forum on yahoo for small mills and lathe's lots of good info.If the tables are loose there are gibs to tighten them up if the head is loose you can also tighten it up with new bearings or just tighten the retainer on the ones you have.I down loaded a manual from harbor freight it is the same mill.I use it all the time beats any drill press going.Miller 330 A/BP Bernard SS coolerMiller cst 250Miller Big Blue 251DCentury 210 Mig (first welder I bought)Hypertherm PowerMax 800Victor torch setRu Fong 31 MilAtlas lathe
Reply:Thank you for the info on the lights. Also thanks for the info on the mill, I did tighten the table gibs, helped alot. Still chatters to much while milling for me. May be the quill bearings are sloppy. But you are right much better then any drill press.Tim Beeker.
Reply:OMG man, that is a gorgeous trailer!  I got my own little trailer project, I'm going to post it up in a separate thread.  Very good job man, totally pro!   Have a Jeep Cherokee?  Click Here!
