Anybody ever used one of these for welding aluminum?
Reply:I have.  I liked it.  The only drawback I could see was the gas valve is very wasteful.  I did a bunch of repairs on some old aluminum bleechers using a couple of big 12v batteries.  They are not as slick as some of the spool guns, but they dont cost $800 either.  You can still get some birdnesting...I had to disassemble the gun to free one...but, it wasnt a big deal.  I think the one I used was the 10250...the one that will run off a CC welder also.  I have been eyeing those myself.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
