I'm looking at one of these that is up for sale locally for $1,200 and very little time used and that was only as a generator. Seller will have it serviced prior to sale and from the pics it looks good. It includes a set of wheels but may not have the leads, what should I look for when I go to check this out and is the price in the fair range?
Reply:I would definitely want to run it and weld with it prior to forking over $$. Even if I had to bring my own leads. Make sure the motor runs correctly and the idle functions as it should when you strike an arc. Overall I have had good luck with my Ranger 8. Paid $885 for mine with some bent sheet metal, factory cart, and it came with 200' of cable.IAMAW Local 330Airco 300 AC/DC HeliwelderAirco Dip-Pak 200 with Profax spool gunPowr-Kraft AC225Everlast PowerArc 200stBuffalo Forge No.21 drill pressSpeedglas 9100xxAirco, Oxweld, Purox, Victor torchesLincoln Ranger 8 |
