Last week I took a 6g pipe test and passed, I worked for 2 days then they layed off a few welders and of course I was one of them. Today I took another 6g test and this time it has to be xrayed to see if I passed. I've never done a 6g that has to be xrayed, what is the difference?
Reply:When you take weld test of any kind they are based on different qualification limits. Some are for general hiring and the type of testing is based on company policy. If they need a test to a certain spec or code then that will determine the type of testing that is done to it to see if the coupon passes within the allow limits of the spec or code.
Reply:The last test was a 6g bend test and it bent and all is well. I got my root in perfect today and I burnt everything hot so hopefully there won't be any trash left. |
