Reply:Since it needs $125 in parts, Id say pass....Lincoln Power MIG 210 MP ( boat anchor )Lincoln Weld-Pac 100 HDHobart IronMan 230Cutmaster 42Jackson NexGenSumner Ultra ClampsDWM120
Reply:If it was closer I'd jump all over that. I sold a migmaster 251 (slightly newer model than that one) for $900 last year. That is one of Esabs best migs, very reliable and a smooth arc.
Reply:so yes no? ive never fixed a machine before and its only about an hour and 30 minutes of a drive.
Reply:Hey smilex,Even though that puppy looks to have some hard miles on it, the ESAB's are a pretty rugged unit. If you were to put $200 in it, & maybe hedge him $50, that would be a good buy. I would definitely really give it a good going over & look at the inners. Take a chance if you're willing to gamble. I've picked up (2) units that were kinda neglected, although a good pre-check before firing them up & a good inside/outside cleaning brought them back to life & working quite well. Reply:that is a steal. even if you drop $500 in parts youstill are miles ahead of the game with it.
Reply:I got my brother one from work, they are a good machine. I would prefer an old ESAB, Lincoln or Miller than some of the new no name welders.Make him an offer you are comfortable with.Leo

Reply:Those units are tough as nails and very easy to have repaired. They are also much cheaper to repair than comparable Miller or Linc units. Esab kept pretty much the same design through the whole model's evolution....and the same as the L-tec version for the most part. Simply put, no matter the year, the newest parts will most likely work like a champ on it. Can't say that about blue or red.QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS
