I am new here so my apologies if this is not the right place for this question.  I am basically a hobby welder practicing whenever I can.  I live just north of Atlanta and wondered if anyone could recommend an economical source for 75/25 gas. I don't use enough to justify leasing and the place where I bought my bottle seems pricey on their refills. Thanks
Reply:Your best bet is probably to open the phone book and call the local welding shops and get prices.  I have two welding shops in my town, and one is significantly less expensive than the other on refills.  Atlanta is a big city, will be lots of welding shops, but most of them will be too far away from you to be practical.RichardSculptures in copper and other metalshttp://www.fergusonsculpture.comSyncrowave 200 Millermatic 211Readywelder spoolgunHypertherm 600 plasma cutterThermal Arc GMS300 Victor OA torchHomemade Blacksmith propane forge
Reply:jlbeck,I live in Dalton, north up I75. I have had good luck with my AirGas dealer. Go talk to your local place, spend a little time (and $) to get to know them. There is a lot of latitude in pricing. Since I bought my welder and accessories from them, they give me a fair price. BTW, where are you in Atlanta?Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
