I ran a few test beads last night on a new to me older Syncrowave 250 out in the garage. When I came inside one of my normally calm dogs was freaking out and had completely destroyed the laundry room which is about 10 feet away from the garage. I've stick welded with the same machine several times and it didn't seem to bother her. I'm thinking it was the high frequency start that might have been audible like a dog whistle to her?Any other dog owners had this experience?
Reply:The HF start is an electrical high frequency not an audible one so that in and of itself shouldnt do it. She may have been able to hear the AC arc which I could see freaking her out as it can get quite loud. Other than that maybe the welding caused a smell that she didnt like and freaked out.
