Here are some pics of a chopper i am building (not a kit bike chopper) but an actual chop. Its a stock rigid frame that i raked out to 36 degrees to accomidate the 14 over springer. Alternator shovel. 1965 kick only panhead tranny. SU ( variable venturi type carb with slide/vacume piston-more dependable). I pounded out the gas tank with 15 gauge sheetmetal. Girlfriend is going to make the leather seat. Still a lot of work to be done, but its coming along.I have had to machine a lot of mounts and other miscll. things to get it together, its pleasurable. Also, i might add, i have been having some trouble with my thermal arc gms400 welder. i posted under the "process" section some pics. The thread is called "tig welding problems...help!!!" please look at this if any of you are experienced with tig welding as i would greatly appreciate your help. Attached Images

Reply:Very cool Bike.Isn't the gas tank a little small though. I do like the design. I am planning on building tanks and other motorcycle tins. I have been  working on some designs and have a couple that look like yours but I changed it in order to get my fuel capacity up to atleast 14 liters.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Very nice work!! Make sure to post pictures when you finish it!!!
Reply:Thats a REAL F'n harley!  David  Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Now that's what I like to see. Not a bunch of bolt together crap someone called a custom. One of the reasons I like Billy Zane is because he does it as good as anyone and does it without a million dollar shop. Nice looking job on the tank. They can be a real pain. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:a guy i work with owned a bike shop for awhile, also built bikes for the discovery channel bullcrap.  Designed the frame and custom built everything except the motor and tranny for his own personal bike, one of the raddest bikes ive ever seen.My point is, bike looks great, its nice to see someone build something themselves, rather than order a bike out of a catalogue. And i believe his name is billy lane, but yes, he does some awesome work, and at least he can build a bike, unlike scotty long, the only master bike builder, whos never built a bike.

Reply:Looks like vey interesting and well performed project. This tank was defeinitely taken from "Alien" movie set...It just could not get rid of a feeling that the frame a bit light for that motor. The way I see it, those two cylinder heads create big console, which in turn, at sudden breaking creates crunching moment on supporting frame. It is is not like it is going to fall apart or anything, but I can see a possibility of excessive stresses...Again, just $0.02 or less, less....Last edited by Nomand; 08-15-2008 at 08:24 AM.
Reply:It's going to be a good looking scooter. The thing I really like is you are BUILDING it, not buying a bunch of parts and bolting it together. Takes talent and skill to design something and then build it from scratch. Most anyone can do the "buy and bolt" thing.
Reply:Now thats a HD worth keeping, I like old HD as thats the stuff my old dad rode, these new Doc/Lawyer chopps are crap, I'd ride with ya but never them.LOVE the motor trans you pick'd instead of the EVO....Are you a member of ChopperWeb.net ?
Reply:I dont know bikes at all, so please forgive the stupid question, what is that thing that looks like the handle from an aluminum bat comin out near the trans?Yup
Reply:nice ride. how ya plan to run your exaust
