I am new in welding business.Do TIG and WIG stand for the same process? If not, then what is the difference?Thank you in advance.
Reply:Never saw the term WIG before, but since the symbol for tungsten is really W, they might be the same thing...
Reply:Is it possible you have the W upsidedown? MIG.
Reply:I tend to "WIG" out when I have to grind off an other-than-perfect weld. John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:I guess I "wigged" out a long time ago, Since I doubt I ever did a "absolutely PERFECT" weld. I guess i should qualify that, as my welds are always technically correct, even if not visually perfect. And, that brings up another whole basket of worms. MOST welders can show a visuallygreat looking weld, but many of those same guys don't know how to pass a real welding test. OR , just don't care if they are not being scrutinized.

Reply:The Germans spell it "Wulfram", We'll spell it "Wolfram" which is the word that is interpreted as tungsten in their language Respectfully,SSBN727"Run Silent... Run Deep!!!
Reply:Damn, I thought that I could weld a wig onto my chrome dome!My angle grinder is my best friend! |
