This is the one my daughter took off with. No brazing as the guard is 6061T aluminum so Devcon epoxy did the trick. It's a hidden tang so Devcon is holding the whole thing together. The wood for the handle turned out pretty nice.

Reply:I grind my own blades and heat treat them. All I've posted pictures of have been made from wore out Nicholson files except two and those were made from a Lenox 14' lathe file. I found the Lenox to be a little harder than the Nicholson's with the same heat treat.Friend of mine owns a large machine shop and he gave me a bucket full of old Nicholson files with that one Lenox. I bought some 1095 steel recently just to try something different. |
